Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery is the FIRST Practice on the Treasure Coast to offer CoolSculpting ELITE!

CoolSculpting, or cryolypolisis, is a technology created at Harvard University that freezes fat cells. CoolSculpting has been around for 11 years, but recently, the new ELITE technology was released, allowing us to treat 18% more surface area per cycle, as well as treat two areas at once with all new dual sculpting. The amount of fat cells that our bodies contain is set during childhood and adolescence and varies little during adulthood. As we gain weight, our body is not producing more fat cells, but rather, existing fat cells are growing. Some individuals may have stubborn pockets of fat that are more difficult to reduce despite diet and exercise. These stubborn pockets may vary greatly from person to person because we all carry fat in different areas of our bodies. CoolSculpting works by freezing existing fat cells forever, reducing the number of fat cells that can grow in size in the future.

What is Coolsculpting Elite?

CoolSculpting is the #1 non – invasive, FDA cleared fat reduction treatment in the US. At the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery, we utilize CoolSculpting to transform your body safely and effectively, freezing away stubborn pockets of fat on your abdomen, back, bra fat, love handles, legs, arms and under the chin. Patients can expect up to a 25% reduction of fat in the treated areas. More than 8 million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed worldwide. CoolSculpting’s fat-freezing technology gives long-term results that make trouble areas a lot less troubling. Fat cells do not like the cold and at a certain temperature they will freeze. Once that happens, our body will naturally eliminate the dead cells in 1-3 months or more, resulting in up to 20-25% reduction of fat in a treated area.

Who is a Candidate for CoolSculpting?

Good candidates for CoolSculpting have noticeable fat bulges in certain areas such as the abdomen and back that they would like to reduce. CoolSculpting is ideal for those who have pinchable fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. It is important to understand that CoolSculpting is NOT a weight loss solution and is not designed to result in ‘’pounds lost’’ but in how your clothes fit. The goal is to contour the body. During your one-on-one assessment at VIPS, we will discuss a treatment plan best suited to help you reach your goals.

What is the Technique?

During your CoolSculpting procedure, we start by taking before pictures to track your progress and record your starting weight. It is important during your CoolSculpting journey to remain the same weight that you were during your first treatment. Next, we will begin marking the areas to be treated to determine the specific hand piece that would best fit your body. With our new CoolSculpting Elite machine we can ‘’DUAL SCULPT’’ meaning we can treat two areas at the same time. During your treatment, you will be on the treatment bed with pillows and blankets to help you feel as comfortable as possible. We will apply a gel pad that protects your skin during the procedure which acts as a barrier between your skin and the applicator. Once we apply the applicator, you will feel a strong suction as the device pulls in the tissue to the hand piece and we will begin the cooling. We recommend bringing a phone or tablet with headphones as you can watch movies, catch up on emails or work during your treatment. The amount of time you will be here will depend on the combination of areas being treated. After your treatment, we will remove the applicator and perform a 2-minute massage to the treated area to assist your body in the elimination of fat cells and make the treatment more effective. We then remove the gel pad, clean the skin and your body begins the fat cell elimination process.

FAQ's

Where does the fat go & is it permanent?

Think of how the body eliminates a bruise over time – it is the same way the body eliminates the treated fat after a CoolSculpting session. The treated fat cells are chilled and then naturally eliminated from the body through your lymphatic system over the next few months. Once the fat cells are gone, they are gone for good. It is important to maintain a stable weight, healthy diet, and an exercise routine during your CoolSculpting journey. If you do gain weight in the future, you will have less fat cells in the area treated and will not be able to store as much fat in that region. This is why CoolSculpting is ideal for stubborn bulges resistant to diet and exercise.

Why is CoolSculpting Elite better than the original?

The future of non-invasive fat reduction has arrived – introducing CoolSculpting Elite! The most advance CoolSculpting technology yet. CoolSculpting ELITE is the new and improved CoolSculpting device. CoolSculpting Elite is better engineered, meaning patients are getting better and faster results than ever. We are now able to perform ‘’Dual Sculpting’’ meaning we can treat two areas at the same time! This means freezing more fat in less time. CoolSculpting Elite has been redesigned in all aspects with new applicators that have 18 % more tissue contact. Not only is the machine new and improved, but we also offer more rewards with Alle! This means dollars off for you to use towards other future treatments or better yet – more CoolSculpting!

How much does CoolSculpting cost?

CoolSculpting can vary in cost depending on the areas you are interested in treating. We recommend treating any area twice for best results. In certain cases, more than two treatments will be recommended based on desired reduction. We will discuss how many treatments you need to reach your goals during your consultation at the Vinyard Institute Of Plastic Surgery.

Are results permanent?

YES! Once we have killed a fat cell, it is permanently removed from the body in that area. If you gain weight in the future, you will not be able to gain as much fat in the treated area.

What is the downtime for CoolSculpting?

The best part of CoolSculpting is there is no downtime. You will experience some swelling, possible bruising and/or tenderness/soreness, in the area treated but will not have “downtime” that will require time off of work. You can resume your normal activities directly after your treatment. We recommend a lot of water, movement and a healthy diet after your treatment.

What areas can I treat with CoolSculpting Elite?

CoolSculpting Elite is the one and only treatment FDA – cleared to eliminate stubborn fat in 9 different areas of the body including under the chin and jawline, thighs, abdomen and flanks, as well as bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks and upper arms.

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend always treating an area twice for optimal results. Depending on the amount of reduction you are looking for in the area we are treating, more than two treatments may be necessary.

Will it hurt?

During the beginning of your treatment, you can feel sensations like stinging, burning, pinching, although most patients say the sensation is very tolerable. After about 5 minutes of cooling, the area will become numb and you should not experience much discomfort. After we remove the applicator, we must perform a 2-minute massage to help the fat cells eliminate from your body and help enhance your results. The massage can be uncomfortable but is a very important step in enhancing your results. After your treatment you will experience soreness in the area with possible swelling and/ or bruising. This usually dissipates in the first two weeks, but sometimes can persist for the next month or so.

Should I get Liposuction or CoolSculpting?

If you are looking to remove large areas of fat, liposuction is going to be a more effective treatment. CoolSculpting is much better suited for small pockets of stubborn fat that cannot be lost with a healthy diet and exercise program. Liposuction is an invasive procedure and does come with more downtime, and you must wear a garment post-procedure. The team at the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery can help you decide which treatments and/or procedures will best help you meet your goals.
