Facelifts are one of the most popular ways to tighten, contour, improve, and reshape the face to provide the patient with a younger, youthful, and more lifted appearance. With the intent to reverse aging effects such as wrinkles, sagginess, and other visible signs of aging, surgical facelifts have delivered results to celebrities, parents, professionals, and everyone in between for years.
However, surgical facelifts aren’t the only option to “lift” the face and give patients a more youthful appearance. Dr. William J. Vinyard, MD, FACS, provides patients with a liquid facelift option. Unlike surgical facelifts, a liquid facelift uses some of the best injectable dermal fillers to give people a complete facial makeover without having to go under the knife. Based on his artistic touch, eye for natural detail, and cosmetic skill, Dr. Vinyard’s liquid facelift has received as much acclaim as his surgical facelifts. What Does a Liquid Facelift Mean?
A liquid facelift is a fully customized procedure performed by Dr. Vinyard that uses dermal fillers to address specific facial aspects. Whether you’re looking for fuller cheeks, a defined chin/jawline, a smoother forehead, a lifted neck, and more, a liquid facelift can do it all. By using Juvéderm®, Restylane®, Radiesse®, and BOTOX, Dr. Vinyard can:
- Reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and facial folds
- Subtly lift drooping features such as the brows or jowls
- Improve sunken skin, bags, and circles under the eyes
- Add volume to the temples or cheeks
- Give you fuller lips
- And more
After the initial consultation, a liquid facelift will take approximately 30-60 minutes. Downtime after the procedure is minimal, and you can return to your daily activities straight away. However, it’s advised that you take things easy and try not to move your face as much as possible for at least 24 hours to keep the injectables in place.
Liquid Face Lift vs. Traditional Face Lift?
While both the liquid facelift and traditional facelift serve the same purpose — lifting the face — they are not created equal. Aside from the noticeable difference of one being surgical and the other being injectable, many more nuanced differences are essential to consider when weighing options. The facelift technique used depends on your goals, skin condition, the amount of laxity present, your lifestyle, age, and anatomy. In some cases, a combination of a traditional facelift and a liquid facelift may be recommended to achieve desired results. We here at the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery customize all of our procedures specifically for our patients and their visions. By hearing their goals and conducting a thorough facial assessment, we can help patients explore whether a liquid facelift or a traditional facelift is more suitable.
Younger patients tend to prefer the liquid facelift, while older patients tend to prefer the traditional facelift. While both facelifts can ultimately deliver similar results, the liquid facelift is generally used for more subtle, natural, and minimal changes, whereas a traditional facelift can be more dramatic. Additionally, the liquid facelift is more reminiscent of the popular “Instagram face” or “Snapchat filter” look, while the traditional facelift is more reminiscent of anti-aging and age reversal.
Do I Get to Choose What “Liquids” are Used?
Here at the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery, we pride ourselves on prioritizing the patient above all. During your consultation, Dr. Vinyard will ask you what your liquid facelift goals are. Whether it be for anti-aging, age reduction, achieving a more flawless look, or other goals, Dr. Vinyard will take note of your desires and will conduct a thorough examination of your facial skin. Then, he will create an entirely curated treatment plan for you and your face based on your consultation. While you don’t have to choose which fillers Dr. Vinyard uses specifically, you will get the final say in everything. With Dr. Vinyard’s attention to detail, artistic eye, and natural results, you can put your faith in his years’ worth of experience, 5-star reviews, and satisfied patients.
