The body-contouring market is experiencing healthy growth – with a global market value of almost $1 billion in2017 and a projected $3.5 billion for2025, the market has enough incentives to develop superior technologies and, therefore, convince more people of the wonders of body contouring.
For many years, traditional liposuction was the go-to procedure for those patients who wanted to remove excess fatty tissue in unwanted areas, such as the arms, legs, abdomen, or the low back. However, the body-contouring market gradually saw the emergence of revolutionary, minimally-invasive techniques, which would deliver results similar to traditional liposuction, but without any surgical input and with very little recovery time.
Out of the minimally invasive treatments, BodyTite™ is definitely one of the spearheads. This FDA-approved technique allows Dr. William J. Vinyard, MD, FACS, to safely remove excess fatty tissue and tighten the skin with no scars, yet with fast results. Just one week after their procedure, patients return to Dr. Vinyard’s office with stunning results and increased confidence!
Here at the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery, our medical team is ready to accompany you in your own BodyTite™ experience, both during and after the procedure. For that reason, today, we are taking the opportunity to learn more about BodyTite™ and how easy its recovery process can be. After one week, you will be ready to show wonderful results and impress everyone with your self-confidence!
A Few Notes on the BodyTite™ Technique
BodyTite™ is a minimally invasive body-contouring that falls under the category of radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL). Through this technique, Dr. Vinyard will employ controlled heat to liquefy and remove the underlying fatty tissue.
During the procedure, Dr. Vinyard will make a minimal incision in the treated area and introduce a small device called an electrode that generates heat under the skin to melt the fat and another electrode placed on the skin to generate heat on top of the skin to tighten the skin. With this device, Dr. Vinyard will direct the radiofrequency energy to the excess fatty tissue and gradually melt it down. The melted fatty tissue resulting from this process is immediately removed through a small tube called a cannula.
Aside from removing excess fat, BodyTite™ induces the production of new collagen and elastin, the two proteins that make up the supporting structure of the skin. With new collagen and elastin, you will notice firmer, healthier, more toned skin!
BodyTite™ is a Safe Approach to Body Contouring
BodyTite™ has built a reputation for both efficiency and safety. The main benefit of approaching body contouring with BodyTite™ is control – at all times, Dr. Vinyard can control the heat levels delivered to the skin.
Our medical team has always praised the safety of this technique. Although BodyTite™ melts excess fatty tissue during the procedure, skin tightening is a bit slower, with improvements up to a year, the safety of this device makes the entire wait worthwhile.
Aside from the two electrodes, BodyTite™ makes use of a temperature gauge to set the required heat levels before the procedure, which the machine cannot exceed. Furthermore, the two electrodes send detailed information to an external computer, keeping Dr. Vinyard informed on heat fluctuations throughout the procedure.
What about BodyTite™ Recovery?
BodyTite™ is a safe and effective approach to body contouring. After a brief procedure performed in our office, you will be ready to return to your day-to-day activities and enjoy your results without worrying about long and tedious recovery times.
How does BodyTite™ manage to deliver superior results with such a short recovery time? The secret lies in its minimally invasive approach – the expected side effects of the procedure are contained to the treated area. On the contrary, people with jobs that do not entail excessive physical work can return to the office the day after the procedure! Although we know that some of you would like to return to work right after the procedure, taking a day off work for rest will do wonders for your results.
To compare, the healing process and recovery time of BodyTite™ is the same as in the case of other RFAL procedures, such as FaceTite™. After the procedure, your body will need a short time to adjust to the new reality, during which it will respond with mild swelling and bruising. Because of that, you may feel a little sore or tender. However, Dr. Vinyard will recommend a compression garment to counteract the mild swelling and bruising. As the side effects of BodyTite™ recede, you will be able to remove the garment as well.
We want to assure you that the discomfort experienced after the procedure is only mild, temporary, and can be relieved with simple painkillers such as Tylenol. After the first couple of days, you should be able to ignore the discomfort without any prescribed medicine.
Are you looking for useful tips to speed up the recovery process? From our experience, frequent movement and compression are the best tips to consider – the former decreases the discomfort and improves circulation while the latter decreases swelling and provides support.
After the first recovery days, you will feel your energy return to normal levels. During your first routine check-up, Dr. Vinyard will assess your progress and decide whether you are ready to return to your strenuous workout routine or not. Remember that recovery is an individualized process, so the recovery time might vary slightly from patient to patient.
Here at the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery, we believe that body contouring can be an amazing experience both during and after the procedure. With the help of Dr. Vinyard’s training and expertise, your BodyTite™ procedure will deliver stunning results and a boost in confidence, all with a short, comfortable period of recovery.
